CLIENT: Stor-Oslo Prosjekt. BACKGROUND: The property developers wanted to give an urban piece of art to their new blocks of flats situated in between Grunerløkka and Grønland in Oslo called Wexels Plass. CONCEPT & IDEAS: We did a survey amongst the flat owners to find that they were all having nature close to their heart as well as they love being a part of the urban city life. The block of flats are next to Oslo Botanical Gardens, the new office developments around Oslo Central Station and the Opera. All these factors made us create a mural which shows the transition in between the urbanity and the nature, the transition in between public and private space. The painting is well received by the flat owners. By having them involved from the start we have created a common ownership to the piece. |
