| Thinking of Printmaking. |
|
With such a beautiful printmaking department located in the main building at Farnham Campus it would be a shame not to use its full potential. Graphic design students have a great opportunity to learn printmaking and my task is to make it less technical and more exciting. Through the printmaking introduction course the students learn about health and safety, different techniques as drypoint etching, linoprint and relief and monoprint, as well as creating images with a narrative. A popular brief that gave great results: • Create & illustrate a cover story for one of the following magazines. Produce a series of 5 prints + one cover print. Be innovative, mix print techniques and think about paper! Carls Cars: Paris Dakar Rally Playboy: Jerry & Grace play chess World Interiors: A hidden treasure in Farnham Hello: My house in Spain Time Magazine: A portrait of Ariel Sharon Sports Illustrated: The Canadian Bobsleigh Team Sunday Telegraph: The Chicken from Hell |
